It’s been so long since I posted any look or reviewed any product on the blog cause dealing with so much on the personal front of which I want to write and share with you guys but just waiting for the right time. Okay it’s nothing serious as such so chill! Now that I am almost done with my Diwali ki Safai thought I should take of my blog as well 🙈. By the way I have ordered this really nice chest of drawers and a huge ass mirror so technically I’ll be sorting out my makeup out of my closet to that chest of drawers! Of course I’ll be sharing the pictures with you guys on Instagram because then what’s the use of getting it if I am not posting it on Insta 🤣 .
Okay coming back to this post, I had ordered The Ordinary Serum Foundations back in August I guess and since then I am using it non stop. You can see my latest look posts I have used this in all of ‘em except for the last two wherein I mixed my The Ordinary Serum Foundation with Neutrogena Hydroboost Foundation to get that perfect colour match cuz I was a bit tanned when I got my Neutrogena one and now it’s a tad bit darker for me.
So the whole purpose of getting two shades in The Ordinary Serum Foundation range was a) One of them is the exact match to my skin tone! Yay 😁 which by the way is 2.1YG b) A lighter shade to correct the tone of the wrong foundation shades I have chosen so far! (Have just placed an order for the Fenty Beauty Foundation and selecting the perfect shade was a nightmare! Took me about 7-8days to zero on one. Hope it matches if it doesn’t then my Serum Foundation in 1.0N to the rescue) Hehe it’s just one which is the EX1 Foundation. Don’t get me wrong the foundation is great but the problem was I was somewhere in between the shades F200 and F300 and went in for F300 which is just a tad bit darker for me and that’s when the lighter serum foundation by The Ordinary comes in handy. I used the lighter foundation with two of my other foundations Neutrogena one and the EX1 and it worked perfectly with both of these without altering the actual finish of both the foundations.
The consistency of the ordinary foundation is quite runny and it’s very thin in texture and thus makes it easier to work with. I have used The Ordinary Serum Foundation both with the sponge and with the foundation brush and I just loved how seamlessly it blended into my skin using a beauty blender. Coverage wise also I feel the sponge gave more air brushed finish than the brush. Plus I felt I am using way more product while using the brush than required and that was the reason I hated the finish at first thus hating myself for ordering these 🙈 . But yes using a beauty blender was a game changer.
I went in for the Serum Foundation instead of the full coverage coz I hate full coverage foundations because then it becomes more prominent that yes you’re wearing a foundation. Serum Foundation is more like a BB cream but with a tad but more coverage and light as feather on the screen. I am definitely repurchasing this one once I use up the whole product which I think I might sooner 😁 .
Have you tried The Ordinary Serum Foundation as yet? If yes then how did you feel about it? Did you like it? Share your thoughts in the comment section below😀 .
