Today I am up with another review/swatch post of yet another product from Colourpop which I guess is the most lusted shade from the Ultra Matte Range, Bumble.
Bumble is a deep brick colour which at times looks dark brown in colour, depending on the lighting. Colourpop had launched these ultra mattes back in Aug’15 and I didn’t order at that time though the colours were pretty, price was also pretty decent but they seem to had some issues with the formula.
- They were drying to the bits, highlighting the fine lines on the lips.
- The liquid lipstick was somewhat pooling when you try closing it after using.
So these two were my biggest concerns latter being the stronger one. So when they launched few more shades Scrooge being one of them I guess they reformulated their old shades as well. That was the time I ordered two Ultra Matte Liquid Lipsticks in the shades Scrooge & Bumble. And I was lucky enough that both the liquid lipsticks which I got were the ones with the newest formula as still some people are getting the ones with the older formula and are facing the pooling problem.
As far as the formula is concerned they apply evenly and by that I mean when I apply the second layer it is not patchy and spreads evenly. It takes 5-10 seconds to dry out to a complete matte finish hence I always have time to correct any mistake/smudge.
You can feel these a bit drying if you have never tried liquid lipsticks as the ones which are easily available in India like Chambor, Maybelline they don’t dry to a kiss proof formula, while these Colourpop ones have kiss proof formula. Meaning no transfer at all whatsoever.
These lasted for a solid 8hrs on me with all the eating and drinking and was still going strong with very little fading around my lips, but then I wiped it off.
I always prep my lips the night before I want to wear a liquid lipstick. And also I apply lip balm before applying the liquid lipstick (few minutes earlier) and my lips do not feel dry at all.
Removing these long lasting liquid lipsticks is a pain. I use oil to melt them off and then wash my face. My Neutrogena makeup remover wipes work well against this as they oil based.
Have you tried the Colourpop liquid lipsticks before or planning to get one then do share your favourite shade in the comment section below. 🙂
