How are you guys doing? I am dead tired as my cousin’s wedding festivities just got over 😀 . So today I am sharing my views on a highlighting blush from NARS – NARS Albatross. I bought this along with my first NARS Audacious Lipstick Vera. Now people from all over the world a going gaga over this highlighting technique known as Strobing. Believe me I did not buy this product for “strobing” whatsoever as I am not a big fan of that heavy duty highlighting. I am happy with the subtle highlighting and there were not many options in the drugstore for a good highlighter except for L’Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighters (which is recently or about to launch in India as well). And I did not read a single good review about the product, so I thought it is better to invest in the efficient high end product rather than wasting $11 on the drugstore one.
NARS has 4 shades which fall under the category of Highlighting Blush
- Albatross – Luminous glow
- Miss Liberty – Soft, shimmering peach
- New Order – Sheer highlighter with golden shimmer
- Satellite of Love – Sparkling gold sand
Albatross is an ivory/creamy color highlighter with golden shimmer.
Miss Liberty is a peachy color highlighter.
New Order is a cool toned pink highlighter
Satellite of Love is a brown/orange highlighter.
I went for Albatross which is of course a cult favorite not just that but it can also be used as a multi-purpose face product. NARS Albatross apart from using it as a highlighter blush can be used to highlight the high points of the face (brow bone, bridge of the nose, cupids bow) it can also be used as an eyeshadow, can be mixed with a matte blush and what not.
NARS Albatross is a pale colored product and at first it is almost impossible to see the golden shimmer but once swatched you will get to see the goodness. Like Colourpop eyeshadows, I felt it had the same cream to powder to finish hence it can be applied using fingers alone. When used it with a dense brush, I don’t how it picked up the product I could see a messy powderiness all over my pan which I didn’t like but when used with a small E.L.F. Stippling brush I think it is a match made in heaven.
When used alone, it did emphasize my pores to a little extent nothing crazy, but when I wore it over a blush I just fell in love this product. Now I am currently testing for theBalm Mary Lou-manizer which is a highlighter. Let’s see if I can come up with a comparison anytime soon 🙂
Hope you liked this review 🙂 Which highlighter do you use?
