Hope you are doing well! How are the Diwali preparations going! By the way Happy Dhanteras guys!
I had so many plans for Diwali Shopping last weekend but the weather here in Bangalore was so bad. Could totally feel the allergens in the cool breeze. I was sneezing 🤧 like ALL. THE. DAY. Thank goodness I had already done the shoot for my looks way in advance (so unlike me). I wanted to go the Sunday Soul Sante and was so sad that I couldn’t go only to realise that it has been postponed to 29th October thanks to the unpredictable weather here!
I am so clueless about Diwali this time as in what to do in terms of lighting and decoration what if it rains that day 🙄 . Have to prepare Mathris (Marwari Snacks) and stuff which I am going to do on Wednesday. Every year we buy a new Bandhanwar, Kandeel and Diyas but this time nothing has happened! Either I am super busy over the weekends (sick rather) or husband is busy with his calls. This week as well he is super duper busy. No holiday even on Diwali for him. And I always thought that Diwali is a national holiday.
Only thing I am happy about this Diwali is my outfits. Hahaha because this year I have three outfits to choose from. No not just outfits but also because this Happy Diwali post is a collaboration of Me, Anusha and Krupa. I feel I always play it safe when it comes to styling but then Krupa’s and Anusha’s take is so different than what I do. So we came up with this collaboration where you could see different take on the outfits of each of us. I am linking both the blog posts here Krupa & Anusha.
I have shot two looks for you guys! One for the day look and one for the night party look.
So for the day look I have a beautiful Pink Kurta in Raw Silk with a Beige-Golden Skirt. It’s a simple kurta with light Gota Patti work done. I kept my makeup to the minimal. Just a dab of concealer, eyeliner, blush, highlighter and a lipstick.
And for the night look I paired my pink blouse which is again in raw silk but with a heavy Zari work going with a pale yellow saree. I got this blouse stitched in February for a family wedding function in Chennai. FYI I suck at saree draping hence I asked Neena from Pink By Neena to drape it for me along with some nice hairdo. She went ahead and helped me out with my eye makeup as well. Thanks Neena! So she draped the saree in Reverse Mermaid Style wherein there was no distraction of the palla. For the hair she did a messy braid which she accessorised with some beautiful hair pins.
For both the looks I wore same piece of jewellery and if you follow me on Instagram must be knowing that obsession is for real. Just one pair of earrings and you don’t have to load yourselves with too many pieces.
So now I am off for some much needed Diwali Shopping before it gets too late🙈😁.
Hope you liked both the looks. Please tell which one was your favourite
P. S. Will share a the third look on Instagram so watch out for that.
