Innisfree Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo~Review

Hi guys,

During my vacation to Hong Kong I was determined to get few things from the Korean brand Innisfree. I went to 2-3 stores and my god there were terrible waiting lines. There were queues outside the stores and I didn’t have the courage to stand in a queue after the long tiring day so I skipped buying from them. And then I saw Innisfree  on Nykaa 😀 . Didn’t buy any sheet mask or any skin care as I had already purchased those from Tony Moly and Etude House. Hence I went for this Green Tea Mint Fresh Shampoo, which I suppose was on some 10% discount.

I really liked the packaging of this shampoo. It’s sleek and sturdy enough and the bottle is round (cylindrical) and doesn’t have a square shape (cuboidal to be precise, Math teacher in me speaks 😛 ) because it gets really difficult and frustrating to get the product out if it’s not in tube or cylindrical shape.

On the 1st day of it’s use I thought it is all natural so pumped out a little extra product as with natural n all vegan stuff a lil extra helps in lathering. But this lathered and it was twice as much was required 😳 . Then I read the contents it is silicone free but NOT SLS free. It’s been more than a year I didn’t use any shampoo which has SLS in it.

At first I really liked the smell of this shampoo minty and fresh but it is so strong that later I felt I have sprayed moov all over my head. I kept it on and then rinsed it. This did clean the scalp and hair very well and thankfully moov smell was all gone but what I have noticed is it has always weighed down my hair. I try washing my hair once in three days else they become grease ball, but with this shampoo I felt shampooing the very next day. I have tried this for about 6-7 times and all the times I have felt the same.

So this one is a dud for me as anyway it has SLS, that is even fine but I can’t wash my hair on consecutive days because SLS or no SLS ultimately it has chemicals which will cause more damage in the long run. I just want to use up this product ASAP and I am definitely not buying this again.

Have you tried other products from Innisfree except for skincare. Let me know in the comments how you feel about them?

Too bad this did not work. Shampoos are such a personal thing as well, they suit some people and are really bad for others. I generally quite like Innisfree products though.
Maybe you can use this to wash delicate clothes? I do that with shampoos that don’t suit my hair.
