Today I am reviewing The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser which is a great drugstore concealer. I am in the shade Honey.
Price $6.99 (buy online from here)
It comes in a cylindrical tube with a sponge applicator and the tube is twisted in direction mentioned product comes out on the sponge which could be applied directly on the dark circles or you could use a brush. I prefer applying directly. When using it for the first time you have to twist it for 1-2mins but don’t go crazy as all of a sudden it may scoop out too much of the product.
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circle Eraser is a creamy concealer which is very easy to blend. I use Colorbar brush for blending it. I use the darkest shade that is Honey which perfectly matches my dark under eye circles. It has very less color options Fair, Light, Medium, and Honey. There are two more shades Neutralizer for extreme dark circles and a Brightener to brighten up the under eyes.
I use the shade Honey for my under eyes, area around my nose and on the acne mark if I have any.
It blends beautifully and doesn’t dry up instantly thus giving time to blend it. The best part is the applicator which gives the precise application of the concealer. Coverage is little more than medium which I really liked as it can be used as an everyday look when you don’t want people to know that yes I am wearing a concealer 😀 . Little goes a long way that means I dot very minutely on the problem areas and gently blend it in my skin. Too much of the product can make the look greasy and you would require more powder to set it or may be take off the excess.
When I require the extra coverage under eyes I use my orange corrector before applying the concealer. And like any other concealer this one also need to set using a powder and as of now I have only used Ben Nye Banana Powder to set it.
In general this is the best drugstore concealer till date I have used without any problem so far. If you get a chance do try this concealer I am pretty sure it won’t disappoint you.
Which is your favorite drugstore concealer?
UPDATE- I have started using Medium shade and it works wonderfully as an undereye highlighter. And I always set this concealer with my Ben Nye Banana Powder.
