It’s been such a long time since I posted anything related to my travel in and around NY. So I thought would sort out all the pictures and show them to you guys 🙂 . We went to Boston somewhere in May. We were on a really short visit there. Didn’t click much pictures but whatever I have will post them.
First we went to Harvard University. It was a mini town itself. Huge campus. HUGE. Some ceremony preparations were going on. Students were moving out. A bit of chaos 😛
After that we had plans of going for Whale watching and we came across MIT campus.
Whale watching closes by 5pm so we planned to just roam around the city. Sorry don’t have much pictures of the beautiful city and its gardens where we went as I was feeling un-well that day. But I liked Boston a lot more than NYC may be because I am just bored of this concrete jungle and Boston had that old city charm, vintage-y feel. Plus crowd was quite young mostly because of students and in NYC/NJ we see a lot of Indians that was not the case in Boston.
So next day we went for Whale Watching and this was the view of the Boston’s Downtown from the ferry. Our ferry was at 11am and we almost travelled for about 1.5hrs in the Massachesetts Bay. There we had spent almost 1hr.
We also went to Hershey’s Chocolate Park which is in Pennsylvania which was about 2.5-3 hrs away from NJ. So we had planned a day’s trip to the park. There was a chocolate factory where they would show how they prepare the world famous and our favorite Hershey’s Kisses along with other chocolates 🙂
And then there was a huge huge souvenir shop where they were selling chocolates, stuffed toys, coffee mugs, key chains, t-shirts etc.
Then we headed to the amusement park which was the best part of the trip. We had an amazing experience. Rides were rated on a scale of 1 to 5 and we tried rides which starred 3 and 4. Didn’t had heart of going on the rides which were rated 5. You know why? Imagine a roller coaster ride which rotates 360° up in the air for almost all the time 😀 . Again didn’t click much pictures as you know we were busy running here and there to all the rides we wanted to try. So just clicked pictures of the park from a tower and it started raining.
Then last weekend we went to Governor’s Island which is in NYC. It’s a very calm island. We took a ferry from NY Downtown and if you reach there before 10:30 ferry ride is free. It was quite an empty island with few food trucks around so it is best suited for a picnic spot. Plus they give cycles on rent for about 15$ for two hours, so we enjoyed cycling non-stop 😛
Do plan a day’s trip to the Governor’s Island but don’t forget to carry some snacks with you as there are not many options for the vegetarians. You can take the ferry from the Battery Maritime Building which will cost you just $2. For more details check this link.
Hope you enjoyed this post 🙂
