Today I’m posting review of the lip balms I’ve been using from a quite long time.
I was using the Forest Essentials Sweet Narangi and The Nature’s Co. Chocolate Mint Lip Balm a lot when I was in India.
- The Nature’s Co. Chocolate Mint Lip Balm
Price Rs 225/-
The Nature’s Co. Chocolate Mint Lip Balm come in a transparent square shaped mini jar which come with a square lid. I don’t like lip balms which come in jar/pots as it is so difficult to scoop out the product without letting it enter ones finger nails. This particular lip balm does full justice to its name. It is brown in color and smells heavenly of chocolate not overpowering though but definitely conversation starter. Chocolate smell stays on for a good amount of time. The texture is quite thick, which instantly melts once applied on the lips. I won’t say its light weight formula but then it not heavy on lips either. It’s good for the lips which are mildly dry. But I won’t recommend this for extreme dry lips as it’s not much of help in healing extreme dry lips.
If you are a hoarder of lip balms you should give this one a try as the chocolate smell won’t disappoint you.
- Forest Essentials Sweet Narangi
Price Rs 595/-
Forest Essentials Sweet Narangi comes in a flat oval shaped jar with a golden lid and frosted bottom. As I mentioned that I am not fond of lip balms in a jar packaging, but since this one comes in almost flat like jar where you don’t have to dip in your finger. I didn’t like this particular lip balm as whenever I applied right after 15-20mins either I had to re-apply or reach out for another balm as it never wore well on my lips. So it was not much of help when I had dry lips but Forest Essential Sweet Narangi is good when applied underneath a lipstick.
- Burt’s Bees Moisturizing Lip Balm in Pink Grapefruit and Mango Butter
As most of you know I came to the USA in January and that was the peak winter season here. My lips were dry no matter how much water I was drinking and lip balms which I were using at that time were not affecting at all. I bought Burt’s Bees in Pink Grapefruit as soon as I spotted this in Target. Burt’s Bees lip balms come in the traditional twist up/down tube packaging. Simple packaging nothing fancy but the quality of the product is top notch. It has sweet-sour tingling smell of the grapefruit which I really liked. My lips were extremely dry and as soon as I applied this balm it soothed my lips that I could feel after few minutes of application. It’s not at all heavy on lips and stays well for almost 3-4 hours and I could feel the softness even after meals same as we feel after using a lip gloss.
Burt’s Bees lip balms come in 13 different variants. I bought Burt’s Bees Lip Balm with Mango Butter which had the mild smell of mango.
Both are really good lip balms but if I had to repurchase I would prefer Pink Grapefruit over Mango Butter totally because of the smell.
The only negative side is Burt’s Bees is only available at Sephora in India unlike USA where it is a drugstore brand. And in India I feel its bit pricey!
- The Nature’s Co. Berry Lip Balm
This cute little heart shaped lip balm came in one of my The Nature’s Co. subscription bag. This pink colored lip balm has a very faint smell of berry not too overpowering. Almost negligible once applied on the lips. It does fairly good job, its hydrating and soothed dry lips the only negative point of this berry lip balm is it is too stiff which makes it difficult to apply on lips as you really have to press it hard to even it out on the lips. May be because this was a sample that came in my subscription box and with the full size product it’s not the case.
